More U.S. Providers Carrying Both EWTN and EWTN Espanol
EWTN Spanish-Language Service in High Demand
Irondale, AL (EWTN) – More than 400 television providers in the United States now carry both EWTN and EWTN Español, including 24 of the top 25 Hispanic markets – a clear sign of the importance of the Hispanic market to cable and telecommunications providers.
“The majority of Hispanics identify themselves as Catholic,” said EWTN President Michael P. Warsaw. “Gaining the loyalty of the Hispanic market is very important to the industry’s growth, and the nation’s leading video service providers realize they need to complement their carriage of EWTN with EWTN Español.”
EWTN Español is now carried in nearly every major market in the country as well as every major Hispanic market.
“Over the past five years, the most successful companies in the cable industry have made EWTN Español an essential part of their offerings to the Hispanic community,” said Walter Cordova, National Marketing Manager, Spanish Networks.
In addition to its U.S. presence, the network is also carried in nearly every city in Spain, South America and Central America. Claudio Ramirez, Director of Marketing, Latin America and Spain, notes that the Network continues to add new markets overseas, with several exciting new agreements this year.
“One of the reasons EWTN has been so successful throughout the Hispanic market is because of our unique programming,” he said. “More than 75 percent of our offerings are original Spanish-language shows, which represent the highest-quality Catholic programming available in the Spanish-speaking world.”
